I’m excited to introduce you all to Bjorn Green, who is officially the very first volunteer on Forest Glade Farm. Bjorn hails from Canada, but is also part Swedish. An electrician by trade, Bjorn brings a range of useful skills to the farm and while it’s only been a bit over a week since he arrived, we’ve already managed to make some good headway on the farm.
It’s been seven and a half months since I took the plunge and moved to the farm from Cape Town. Living off-grid in a tent has been a wonderful experience and in the short time I’ve been back in the Garden Route, I am 100% convinced that this is where I need to be. I could pinpoint it to all the amazing people I’ve met, how it seems that every time I leave the camp site, I meet someone new – who is either a potential mentor, friend (in many cases both) or on a similar journey. Or I could attribute it the amazing nature that surrounds us, or the crazy amount of talented musicians, or the beaches, forests, hikes. Or maybe it’s all of the above. Either way, I’m here to stay. This is my new home and I can’t be happier.
